With 483.52 sqm, the house is located in Ilhabela, a Brazilian island with restricted access, where 80% of the area is a protected native forest and therefore the concern with the environment is a prescriptive for new projects.
With the goal of being as sustainable as possible, low-impact solutions were implemented through the use of sustainable processes, natural materials and renewable resources, such as local manpower, reforestation timber with structural qualities, solar heating, soil coating, green roof, bamboo structure, bamboo coating and rainwater reuse system. The choice of materials was based on what was available locally, as well as the use of natural resources found on site, such as rocks and soil with natural pigments for the walls coating.
