RIBA Stage D – Design Development
The design of Jesolo Magica promises to be a catalyst for reinvention and regeneration – creating the opportunity for Jesolo, an established seaside town and resort, to further develop as a conference and holiday destination. With 53000m2, the project envisages the creation of a retail center on two floors surrounded by areas for public use and car parking, with a restaurant on the roof. Like the petals of a flower, the volumes that comprise the retail center open up around a central space, where the main axes of circulation traverse a gallery that has been transformed into a sheltered piazza. The new complex is sensitively scaled in harmony with its prestigious setting. Thanks to its sinuous lines and long entrance “propilea”, natural light and the surrounding landscape gently interact with the petal structures that make up the complex.
